OK, here's where we left off:
You've got AK and a few clues as to what the guy (Ball Cap) on your left has. A third guy (Seventh Seat) is all in.
What to do?
Well, to be honest, I didn't think it through at all. I just shoved all-in to represent a set, one that I am trying to protect against a straight draw.
Ball Cap got all anxious, hemmed and hawed for a moment, then declared he had to call and flipped his cards.
Uh-oh.
Not exactly the hand I had hoped for. Suddenly I'm about a 1:2 underdog. Luckily the turn was awfully helpful to me, while the river brought nothing but sadness to him.
So, in the end, what did we learn?
1. Sometimes you can win with AK, despite how you play them.
2. Some people will call a raise with any two face cards.
but most of all...
3. None of this would have happened if I would have re-raised the all-in bet.
BTW as a final note, Seventh Street had A2 offsuit and hence won half of the main pot.
